Cardigan knitting pattern for 20" Waldorf doll
This week I completed a 20" Waldorf inspired doll and have now begun the exciting process of creating her wardrobe! I began by knitting her a cardigan as i love making knitwear for my dolls. I hope you find the pattern below useful. It's my first attempt at writing a knitting pattern for others so please comment to let me know how you find it. Knit in DK weight yarn on 3.25 needles.
Finished measurements are:
Length: 7"
Width(edge to edge) 12"
The Body
CO 80 stitches.
K 9 rows (garter stitch)
*K 1 row
K5, p to last 5 stitches K5.
Repeat from * till desired length to underarm.
Create Sleeves and Faux Seams.
K25, create faux seam (tutorial here-), pm, M22, pm, K30, pm, create faux seam, pm, M22,pm, K to end.
Decreases
** K5, P to 2 sts before marker P2 together slip marker, P22, slip marker P2 together P to 2 sts before marker P2 together, slip marker, P22, slip marker, P2 together, P to 5sts before end, K5.
K to 2 sts before marker, K2 together, slip marker, K22, slip marker, K2 together, K to 2 sts before marker, K2 together, Slip marker, K22, slip marker, K2 together, K to end.
Repeat from ** 6 times.
P to 2 sts before marker P2together, slip marker, P22, P2together, P to 2 sts before marker, P2 together, slip marker, P22, slip marker, P2 together, P to end.
***K to 2sts before marker, K2 together, slip marker, K22, slip marker, K2 together, K to 2 sts before marker, K2 together.
Repeat from *** 3 times.
K1, 1 row buttonhole over 4 sts, K to 2sts before marker, K2 together, slip marker, K22, slip marker, K2 together, K to 2 sts before marker, K2 together.
K to 2sts before marker, K2 together, slip marker, K22, slip marker, K2 together, K to 2 sts before marker, K2 together.
K to 2sts before marker, K2 together, slip marker, K22, slip marker, K2 together, K to 2 sts before marker, K2 together.
bind off.
Sleeves
Pick up 22 sts at sleeves on dpns.
Knit in round till desired sleeve length.
P1 round, K1 round, P1 round, K1 round,
Bind off.
Repeat for second sleeve.
Sew hole at underarms,
Sew on button and weave in ends.
